Passionate about animals, Canine Wellness Center (CWC) provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to companion animals in the greater Phoenix area.  We aim to improve the animals’ and owners’ quality of life by utilizing positive reinforcement techniques and numerous pain-free treatment services. Our services include underwater treadmill/hydrotherapy, class IV cold laser therapy, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), therapeutic ultrasound, shockwave therapy, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation (NMES and TENS), and pain management. Our patients include canines recovering from orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and neurologic diseases, to canine athletes, seniors, and service dogs.

No primary veterinary care is provided at CWC.

Any issues outside the rehab’s scope will be referred back to their primary care provider.

Rehabilitation for canines adapts human physical therapy techniques to increase the function and mobility of joints and muscles in animals. Animal rehabilitation can reduce pain and enhance recovery from injury, surgery, degenerative diseases, age-related diseases, and obesity. No patient referral is needed as we are veterinarian-owned and operated.

Kristin is a certified veterinary technician (CVT) and has worked as a technician for 15 years.  She started in general practice and progressed her career as a technician in specialty surgery and rehabilitation.  She is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse (CCRVN) from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. Her background in the veterinary surgical specialty has given her an understanding of many surgical procedures and how they affect a pet’s mobility.  Her passion for the field of rehabilitation came from having experienced her own geriatric boxer’s decline due to arthritis. She has pursued the path that would allow her to help other geriatric pets with pain control and have the mobility to live their best life in their golden years. She has enjoyed making a difference in their care and ability to return to normal function. When not working, Kristin enjoys hiking with her beagles, playing the flute, and pursuing a veterinary pain practitioner certification.
