For Your Pet’s Needs
Canine Wellness Center provides rehabilitation, weight loss, pain management, and sports conditioning services. Our goal is to help pets maintain mobility and live pain-free lives in any situation. We value each patient as if they were our own.
Each rehabilitation session is customized for the patient’s needs that day. Most sessions will have a combination of pain management, soft tissue mobilization, and strength-building sessions. Your pet is evaluated at each session to help tailor the plan for that day.

Consultation & Therapeutic Modalities
Rehab Consultation
A complete soft tissue, neurologic, and orthopedic exam will be performed at the initial evaluation. A consultation can take 1.5-2 hours, allowing for a thorough evaluation and building a customized plan for your pet. The consultation also includes a whole therapy session, and we will start working on your pet’s needs during the visit.
Hydrotherapy
Our underwater treadmill promotes strength building while utilizing the water to offload weight, providing low resistance and minimal impact on joints. This modality is excellent for post-surgery patients or those looking to lose weight.
Laser Therapy Medicine
A popular tool in the rehabilitation world, our Class IV laser is used to decrease pain and inflammation and promote cell healing. This pain-free procedure is non-heat-generating (cold laser therapy) and non-invasive.
Shockwave Therapy
This powerful modality uses acoustic waves to stimulate deep tissues in a focused and precise manner mechanically. Targeted, non-invasive pain relief and healing used for the treatment of acute and chronic bone, joint, and tendon injuries, including osteoarthritic conditions.
Ultrasound Therapy
Therapeutic ultrasound therapy is used to decrease swelling and, therefore, pain. It is also used to warm up muscles and muscle bellies prior to soft tissue mobilization techniques or therapeutic exercises.
NMES/TENS
TENS uses electric current to inhibit pain in nerve fiber endings to decrease pain. NMES can be used to help strengthen muscles. Both modalities help to stimulate the release of natural endorphins and decrease pain. We teach TENS to our clients for at-home use.
PEMF
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) uses pulsed magnetic fields delivered by a small battery current through wire coils to decrease pain, improve circulation, and promote healing. The same technology is used in human medicine to heal non-union fractures.
Soft Tissue Mobilization Techniques
Soft tissue mobilization techniques include massage, the use of hot and/or cold packs, and stretching to improve flexibility and joint range of motion. These techniques are also commonly taught to clients for at-home use.
Sports Medicine
Like human athletes, canine athletes require strength, conditioning, and endurance in their chosen sport. A rehabilitation consultation can help identify areas of pain that could be affecting your pet’s performance. We will tailor a plan to keep your dog performing at a high level for their sport.
Therapeutic Exercises
Therapeutic exercises help build strength, retrain gait patterns, and prevent re-injury. A variety of exercise equipment is used to achieve this. We will also teach you exercises for you and your pet to do with the help of your own tailored at-home online program.
Orthotic, Prosthetic Devices and Carts
Orthotic and prosthetic devices include slings, braces, wraps, and carts to help your pet achieve a prior level of mobility. We will evaluate each pet for the appropriate device to ensure proper fit.
Weight Loss
We will work with your family veterinarian to provide a diet and exercise program to help your pet achieve his/her weight loss goals. The program will provide a strength program to keep your pet an active part of the family.
Pain Management
Alleviating signs of discomfort as 60 percent of dogs over the age of seven suffer degenerative joint disease, more commonly known as arthritis. We do this by treating with prescription medication or alternative therapies such as joint supplements.
